While excavating a buried Roman villa, the noted archaeologist David Darius Deadhead uncovered a small, buried mosaic.
To his surprise, when he lifted it, he found another mosaic underneath it. The same size and shape,
but with a different pattern of tesserae. When he lifted this, he found another, and another, there were 5 in total,
all laying exactly on top of each other. Each mosaic slab was quite thick, not skinny little stone slices.
After studying the mosaic slabs for some while, neither he nor his research assistants could make anything of them. They were patterns, and didn't appear to be the usual
picture images of mosaics. After much head scratching and puzzlement at what hidden message the mosaics may contain, he consulted the famous Plutarch Institute in Turkey.
Their leading authority examined the five mosaics. He thoroughly studied them, and eventually pronounced that he
now understood the message of the tessera, and explained that it just requires a different perspective to uncover it.
What is the message of the mosaics?
