Locks. Where would we be without them. Then again, if everyone was nice, we wouldn't really need them at all. But we have them, so we may as well understand their combinations. However trying to remember all our various and many combinations, pin numbers, passwords, and all the other data we are forced to know, is something of a challenge. I don't recall lessons at school on something useful like this!
